Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust him and not be afraid, for the LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my song. “Give thanks to the LORD; proclaim his name! Make his works known among the peoples. Declare that his name is exalted. Sing to the LORD, for he had done glorious things. Let this be known throughout the earth. Isaiah 12:2, 4b-5 CSB

One of the ways we worship and praise God is to sing songs. Do you remember the first song you learned in church or Sunday School? I think one of the first songs my children learned was “Jesus Loves Me.” But I also remember songs like “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” and “This Little Light of Mine.” What is your favorite song to sing to the Lord?
Our verses today tell us that the Lord is our song. God does so many great things for us that we just want to sing to Him. And God loves to hear you sing praises. Our verses also tell us that we should share God and all the wonderful things He does for us with others. We can “proclaim His name” and “make His works known” and declare (talk about) all the “glorious things” He has done.
This week when you are at church or in Sunday School or even just at home with your family, sing a song to the Lord. Ask your mom and dad and your sisters and brothers to join in and praise the Lord with a song. You can even make up your own song!
Ok, after I suggested that you make up your own song, I had to see if I could do it! So, I made up one for you to try. It is sung to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me.”
Thank You, Lord, for skies so blue.
Thank You, Lord, for Jesus too.
Thank you, Lord, for land and sea.
Thank you, Lord, for family.
Yes, Lord, we thank you.
Yes, Lord, we thank you.
Yes, Lord, we thank you.
Every day in every way.
Blessings and joy as you sing to the Lord! And don’t forget to share your song about the Lord with someone!
I love the new lyrics to Jesus loves me!
Each year I have a one word overall theme in my relationship with the Lord. It’s something I ask of God as I cannot manufacture a fruit out of thin air. This year in my journal it’s recorded as Gary–song. I have felt flat for a long time and need to hear the music of life again and have a louder song flowing out with less minor chords.

I love your one word theme – song! This year, I chose the word, trust. Sometimes I am impatient and want to hurry the path I think God wants me to take. Thank you for your comments and encouragement. And sing your song!
