Jesus Is Alive!

Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they [the women] went to the tomb at sunrise. When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side; they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he told them. “You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they put him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter. Mark 16:2, 5-7a CSB

Happy Easter Morning! This was the morning when some of the women followers of Jesus went to the tomb with spices and perfumes to put on His body. They were sad because Jesus had been killed on the cross. But when they got to the tomb they were surprised! The stone had been rolled away from the tomb and not only was His body gone but there was an angel in a white robe who told them that Jesus is alive, He is risen from the dead!

How do you think the women felt then? You’re right – happy and full of joy! Jesus conquered death for us, so that we can be saved, so that our sins can be forgiven, and so that we can have eternal life with Him in heaven one day. Jesus did it all for us! He loves us that much!

This week, talk to your parents about Holy Week, from Jesus riding into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, to the Passover supper, to His death on the cross, to His burial, and finally to this joyous Easter morning. Take time to thank Jesus for all He did for you and for this greatest gift of salvation.

And don’t forget to share the wonderful Easter story of Jesus with others!

Blessings and joy this Easter morning!
