God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my life. Psalms 54:4 CSB
Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalms 55:22 CSB
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4 NIV

David tells us in the two verses from Psalms that God is our sustainer. And in Isaiah (I can especially relate to this one as I see more gray hair these days!) God is promising that he will sustain us even as we get older. Because He made us; He will sustain us.
Sustain is defined as “to give support or relief to; to supply with sustenance, nourish; to keep up or prolong; to support the weight of; or to buoy up.” God provides. God will carry our burdens. God will give us strength to live our lives in this world. God will sustain us.
Our God Sustains
We are made in the image of God,
Who loves us, though we are flawed.
Who strengthens us when we are weak.
Who emboldens us when we are meek.
Who shoulders our burdens when we ask.
Who sustains us through a difficult task.
Who comforts us in our tears and grief.
Who carries us through our unbelief.
Who journeys with us as we age.
Who gives us purpose at every stage.
Who knows and loves us inside and out.
Our God sustains us, there is no doubt.
This week, think back to times when God has sustained you. Remember His love and provision, His care and sustenance. Share one of your stories with a friend or family member and give glory and praise our Lord, our sustainer.
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we praise and thank our God who sustains us in all of life’s challenges and stages.
Blessings and sustenance from our Lord!
