But as for me, God’s presence is my good. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, so I can tell about all you do. Psalms 73:28 CSB

We know with our minds that God is good. After all the Bible “tells us so.” But do we understand His goodness with our hearts? Feel His presence with us? One reason I love the wording of this verse is that the Psalmist says, “God’s presence is my good.” When I use my heart and my mind and I feel that God is with me, I believe that I can accomplish anything.

As I write this blog each week, I choose a verse that speaks to me, and that I hope speaks to at least one other person that God has chosen to read it. I hope it makes a difference in someone else’s life as well as mine. Some days I type, and the words flow, and the Lord is with me, guiding. There are times I sit and struggle to know exactly what path I need to take, which point is most important. And on those days, I wait on the Lord’s presence. Today was a waiting day.

Today’s verse encourages me (and I hope you) to draw closer to God, to seek His face, to search Him out. Because when we choose to seek God, He will be found.  But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29 He will sit with us and grace us with His presence. He will be our refuge as we trust in Him and His promises.

God’s presence will be…

our comfort in pain,

our peace in the storms of life,

our guide when we lose our way,

our friend when we are lonely,

our strength when we are weak,

our refuge when we need His shelter,

our answer in our waiting,

our counselor in our grief,

our love to share with others,

our salvation and eternal life, and

our good.

This week, choose to seek the Lord your God, in His word, in prayer, in meditation, in journaling, or in His wonderful creation. Seek Him and you will find Him.
