But as for me, God’s presence is my good. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, so I can tell about all you do. Psalms 73:28 CSB

You’ve learned in Sunday School, and from your mom and dad, that God is good, and that God is with us always. But our writer of Psalm 73, Asaph, tells us that “God’s presence is my good.” God is with us all through our lives, in the fun and the troubles, the easy and the hard, the smiles and the tears, and the successes and failures.
God works all things, good and bad, for our good. God is not only around when the good things happen in your life, but He is with you through the hard times. He is our refuge. We can run into God’s presence and feel safe and sheltered.
God Is Good!
God is my good when things go wrong.
God is my strength when I’m not strong.
God is my confidence when I’m afraid.
God is my Shepherd when I’ve strayed.
God is my comfort when I’m lonely and sad.
God is my peaceful calm when I’m just so mad.
God is my love when I walk into school.
God is my refuge when others are cruel.
God is my good no matter my need.
God is my guide; I follow His lead.
This week, talk with your parents. When has God been your “good?” When has God helped you with something difficult? Be an interviewer and ask other people you know these questions. I bet you get some great answers!
Blessings and joy as God is your good!
Fun fact: Asaph was a leader of music during worship in the temple in Jerusalem. He wrote Psalms that were sung for the worship. He lived at the time when David was king.
