Renew Our Lives

“God create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast [right] spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10 CSB

“He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Psalms 23:3 CSB

Yesterday was the first day of spring in our part of the world. One of my favorite times of the year, flowers begin to bloom, the trees are budding out, birds are building nests, and the grass greens up. After the long dormant season of winter, creation comes alive!

It is also the perfect time for us to ask our Father God to renew us, renew our lives and our hope and joy in Him. We can renew ourselves by seeking Him in His Word and praying. We can renew our focus and service. We can embrace our own spring of spiritual renewal.

Renewed Like the Springtime

The forsythia blooms appear without a leaf in sight.

Our heart unseen, but by God, is filled with His light.

The daffodil flowers, bright yellow facing the sun.

Our minds turned toward God, seeking His Son.

Creation awakes, the trees burst with buds galore.

Our spirits soar with joy as the Lord opens the door.

Birds flutter, fly, chirp, and sing, and build their nests.

Our souls rejoice and praise our God who gives us rest.

This week, take time to enjoy a spring day. Even with the snow in places, see the promise in the dripping of icicles and the longer days. Embrace the hope of warmth to come and crocuses poking up through the snow. Welcome spring. And in the enjoyment of spring, renew you heart with God’s light, renew your mind, let your spirit soar and your soul rejoice. Live a life renewed!

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we are renewed in the renewal of spring.

Blessings and renewal!
