Be Renewed and Bloom!

“God create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast [right] spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10 CSB

“He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Psalms 23:3 CSB

Daffodils and Forsythia at an old homestead on our property, a bird’s nest underneath our deck, and a red oak with its leaves just starting to bud out. Spring’s renewal!

Yesterday was the first day of spring. Do you have warmer weather yet? What signs of spring have you seen? I have to admit that spring is probably my favorite season. It is all about new. Trees that have been bare all winter are budding, flowers are popping up and blooming, and the weather warms as the days lengthen. Creation is being renewed, coming alive again.

Did you ever wake up in the morning after a good night’s rest and feel fresh and new, ready to jump out of bed and start your day? The rest you had renewed your body and mind to face the day. And just like you after a good rest and creation in the springtime, we, too, can be renewed with the Lord.

We are renewed by spending time with God, reading His Word, praying, and talking with Him, and by learning about Him and Jesus in church and Sunday school. When we spend time with the Lord, we feel loved and refreshed and new again.

Bloom!

When God loves, my smile blooms with joy.

When God forgives, my heart blooms with love.

When God teaches, my mind blooms with wisdom.

When God promises, my soul blooms with hope.

When God guides, my future blooms with purpose.

When God is with me, my life blooms for others to see.

This week talk with your parents, spend time together with the Lord. Renew yourselves so that you can all bloom together! Draw a picture of springtime and your family blooming right along with God’s renewed creation.

Blessings and smiles as you bloom!
