“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV

Paul gives the Ephesians, and us, advice for living a Christian life. He begins in Ephesians 4 by telling us that we are to “put off our old self” because we have been made new.  We are to follow the example of God and Jesus and “walk in the way of love.”

The Way of Love…

Loves the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind,

Loves others as ourselves,

Forgives a trespass,

Speaks truth and kindness,

Encourages and esteems,

Prays for others,

Shares our salvation story,

Praises the Lord, and

Shines His light on the world.

This week, let’s try to walk in the way of love as we interact with others. Let’s be honest, loving others is not easy. But we have the One who loves walking with us through this life. His love for us, allows us to love like Him.
