“Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV

Paul encourages us to walk in the way of love, just as Jesus did when he walked the earth. Jesus loved people and gave us two commands in Matthew. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” And “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Do you see the word love in both of these commands? First, in order to love like Jesus, we are to love our Father God completely. Second, we are to love other people as much as we love ourselves.
Love Like Jesus
Love Father God and seek Him,
See people as God’s unique creations,
Speak kindly to everyone,
Forgive those who hurt us,
Help people in need,
Be a steadfast friend,
Shine the love of God for others to see.
This week strive to love like Jesus. It will not be easy, because people can sometimes be mean or hurt us. But remember that Jesus walks with us. He loves us always and forever, and He can help us to love God and others just like He does. Talk with your parents about how you can all love like Jesus. Start small this week, with one person or with one act of kindness. Ask Jesus to help you know how to respond to others in love.
Blessings as you love like Jesus!
