Everlasting God

“Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.” Psalms 90:2 NKJV

Pilot Mountain shrouded in early morning clouds, barely visible, indefinite, indescribable.

Everlasting is a difficult concept to wrap our minds around. The definition of everlasting is “lasting forever, eternal”. Our verse tells us that even before creation, God is. God is always here without beginning or end. God is limitless, endless, infinite and impossible to measure. God is, well, God.

Everlasting God is…

Eternal, always existing. God always is, always was, and always will be.

Creator, designer of the earth, land and water, plants and animals and us, made in His image.

Father, protector and guide, desiring to know us and for us to know Him.

Love, always loving us and calling us closer as His sons and daughters.

Savior, offering His Son as the sacrifice for us, reconciling us to Him with mercy and grace.

Worthy, to be praised and worshipped and loved.

Present, always with us, listening to our prayers, thanks, and petitions, blessing us.

Even as I am writing this, I realize how inadequate my words are as I attempt to describe our indescribable, everlasting God.

This week, think about our Everlasting God. What other words would you use to describe our God? How is God present in your life? Praise our Everlasting God that He is mindful of us, that he would choose to know you and me. Thank Him for all He does and all He is.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we attempt to describe our Everlasting God.

Blessings forever!
