Encourage Each Other

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV

Each sunrise is God’s encouragement to have a beautiful day. Sunrise on Lake Michigan.

In our verse for today Paul is writing to the people in the church at Thessalonica, a city in Greece. Paul wants them to encourage each other, to build each other up. Encourage means to help someone by giving words of hope, showing support, or boosting confidence.

Do your mom or dad encourage you? Do they tell you when you’ve done a good job? Does your teacher tell you that you are smart and you can do this? Who encourages you? How does it make you feel when someone speaks words of hope and support and encouragement? You can be an encourager, too!

Sometimes, it’s not just words that can encourage. You can encourage others by helping them or just being with them. You can make others feel good and build them up, make them feel confident and strong.

Be An Encourager!

Great job!                                                                   You can do this!

Don’t worry, you’ll do super on your test!                   Go, run, you can make the goal!

Good luck today!                                                         I’ll say a prayer for you!

It’s not easy, but you can do it!                                   I love you!

Thanks for all you do for me!                                      I’ll help you get it done!

Together we can do it!                                                You are my best friend!

This week be an encourager. Choose people in your life to gift with words of encouragement: your mom, your dad, your brothers or sisters, your friends, your teachers or anyone else. Choose to build others up and you will be encouraged, too!

I think you will be an awesome encourager! I am rooting for you! I am praying for you!

Blessings as you become an encourager!
