“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 NIV

Jeremiah was God’s prophet to His people exiled in Babylon. Jeremiah tells them that their exile will last for an extended period, 70 years, and to settle there. But then he also gives them the hope that when they seek God with all their hearts, they will find Him.
Seek means “to go after, chase down, search for, ask, or consult.” If we are Christians, technically, we have “found” God through our belief and faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Do we then quit seeking? Have we become lackadaisical in our faith? I think we have all been there, I have (which may be why this verse spoke to me!).
A Heart Seeking God
Seek God’s presence in a quiet morning sunrise.
Seek God’s companionship in a friend’s smiling eyes.
Seek God’s strength when yours in not enough.
Seek God’s wisdom when the decisions are tough.
Seek God’s comfort in the hug of a friend.
Seek God’s love and make amends.
Seek God’s will and ways diligently.
Seek God and live your life abundantly.
This week let’s seek God with all our hearts and find His presence and power in our lives.
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we “go after, chase down, search for, ask, and consult our Mighty God.
Blessings and seeking!
