Power, Wisdom, Understanding

“But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.” Jeremiah 10:12 NIV

The beginning of fall in our small portion of God’s wonderful created world.

Jeremiah was a prophet of God. He foretold the destruction of Jerusalem and Israel and their captivity by Babylon. But unlike Nineveh (and the prophet, Jonah), Israel did not repent. Much of Jeremiah is foreboding, but there are verses, like this one, that remind Israel, and us, that our God is powerful with wisdom and understanding beyond all we can imagine. The Creator of everything!

Power, Wisdom, and Understanding

The power of light slashing across the black nothingness.

The power of a sunrise to bring hope and joy.

The power of harnessing the waters into lakes and oceans.

The power of breaking waves on a beach to give peace and calm.

The wisdom of a rhythm for the seasons, planting and harvest.

The wisdom of timekeeping by our warming sun and waning moon.

The wisdom of a cycle for life-giving water; clouds, rain, rainbow, repeat.

The wisdom of a design for a world that works together and endures.

The understanding of our human nature even before our creation.

The understanding of our empty place that only God is be able to fill.

The understanding of our need for salvation and the sacrifice required.

The understanding of mankind, and yet, He still loves us unendingly.

This week just sit back and meditate on the power, wisdom and understanding of our God. I’m sure you can think of many more examples of each. Please feel free to share. We serve a powerful, wise and understanding God!

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we embrace the power, wisdom, and understanding of our mighty God.

Blessings!
