“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” Psalms 143:8 NIV

Each morning as the sun rises and the light of the day strengthens, I am reminded that my God and my Savior love me. The birds are twittering and singing. The dew is sparkling in the sunlight. The breeze whispers my name. Thank you, Lord, for another beautiful day in your created world.

So many things in creation remind us God’s love. Our ability to smell a rose on a summer morning. Waking up to the sound of our family getting ready for the day. Touching the soft fur of a puppy or kitten. Seeing the beauty of a perfectly veined leaf. And tasting our favorite breakfast food. Mine is country ham!

I have tried to put this verse to the test over the past few years. (It was a much harder task when our children were young.) And I have found that if I start my day, greeting the Lord and asking for His guidance and direction for the day, I have much less worry and more peace. I still have issues to deal with, but if the Lord is with me, who can be against me?

One of the hardest things for me was trusting each new day to the Lord. Not trying to work out every detail on my own. But I am His, my life is His, my work is His, so who better to trust?

This week let’s try to greet the Lord, our God, in the morning before the trouble of the day starts. Let’s spend time accepting His “unfailing love”. Let’s ask Him to show us the path. Let’s trust our days and our lives to the creator of everything.
