Waiting with God

“I remain confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.  Psalms 27:13-14 NIV

In the Clouds

In the clouds. This always reminds me that God is with me even if I don’t see Him.

King David wrote this Psalm. (Remember the story of the shepherd boy, David, who defeated the giant, Goliath, and grew up to be king!) In this Psalm (or song), David says that he is confident that the Lord will do good things in his life.

What good things has God done in your life? Think of at least 5! I’ll help you.

-a great mom and dad

-a brother or sister

-a best friend

-a pet you love

-a kind teacher

-a cool church to go to

-a nice home for shelter

Did you think of other ones, too? Because God has already done some wonderful things in our lives, we are confident, we have faith, that He will continue to bring goodness to us.

But sometimes we have to wait for the good things we want. God’s timing and ours is not always the same. I don’t know about you, but I tend to want things right now. Sometimes in the waiting for God’s goodness, we become stronger and better. God is with us in the waiting, He never leaves us. He gives us strength and patience and love and joy even when we have to wait.

This week draw a picture of something good God has given you and draw a picture of something you are waiting for. Share it with your parents. Do they have a list of good things and something they are waiting for? Wait with God and be strong and patient and accept God’s precious timing.

Blessings as you see all the marvelous goodness of God and wait with Him!
