“Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” Psalms 100:1-2 & 5 NKJV
This whole Psalm (even if it is only 5 verses) praises God with joyful shouts and gladness and singing. The last verse tells us why we praise the Lord with thanksgiving. Because…
The Lord is good.
God, the creator of everything, made us, and, yes, made you in His Holy image. And even though God is the only truly good One, He loves each of us.
His mercy is everlasting.
After God created man, and then woman, in His image, they sinned. Adam and Eve did what God had told them not to do. They disobeyed God. But even then, God was kind and merciful to them, He clothed them and cared for them. He also had a plan to bring all of us (for “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23) back into a close relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus.
His truth endures to all generations.
God’s truth is His Word, the Bible. His truth is for everyone; all ages, all races, all countries, and all the world. Your grandparents would be one generation in your family. Your parents and their brothers and sisters (your aunts and uncles) would be another generation. You, your brothers and sisters, and your cousins would be an additional generation. God’s truth is for all generations, from the beginning of people to all the people in the future. God’s truth stays the same, it endures!
My grandmother gave me my first Bible when I was 11 years old. My Dad took me to church when I asked to go. My children have also accepted God’s truth. Four generations; my grandmother, my father, me, and my children! God is good and merciful, and His truth endures to all generations!
This week, draw a picture of people in your family (from different generations) who all believe in the truth of God’s Holy Word. Talk about it with your parents!
If you want to share it with everyone, ask your parents to send your picture by Facebook messenger or by email. I will post it on the Kids Gallery page so everyone can see that God’s truth endures to all generations.
Blessings as we share God’s truth!
