“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” Proverbs 31:25-26
There is no one like our mothers. Period. I still miss my mom and she’s been gone almost 18 years. She left this world way too soon, but the memories I have will stay with me as long as I live. She laughed a lot. She loved us totally and truly loved my dad and didn’t mind showing it. She taught us to love life and to love each other. (We’re better at it now than when we were kids. There were four of us!) She was always ready for an adventure or a trip. She kept our family in touch with each other. She called every week! She was the rock of our family.
Mother’s Day
My mother was always “mom”, a special close-to-the-heart mother.
Offering advice, comfort and love in every tribulation of childhood.
Teaching lessons by how she lived her life and not with a lecture.
Helping us to see both sides of a situation, argument, point of view.
Earning our respect and deserving of our love and joyful memories.
Remembering my mom “like no other mom” on Mother’s Day!
This week let’s take time to appreciate our mothers. If your mother is still living, you have such a wonderful opportunity to tell her so. If not, your memories (like mine) will have to sustain you. Let’s each celebrate our mothers by writing a poem or a letter or a thank you note for them to let them know how special they are (were) to us.
I received a special request last month and am actually going to spend this Mother’s Day with my daughter!
I thank God for each of you, a son or a daughter, and for all of our mothers who loved us and cared for us and are “like no other” to us. Thank you for joining me this week as we celebrate our mothers on Mother’s Day!
A blessed and Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers everywhere!
