“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”” Ephesians 6:1-3 NKJV
Next Sunday is Mother’s Day! It is a special day when we celebrate our moms for all they do for us. One of the Ten Commandments (God’s rules for living well) is to honor your mother and father. To honor means to treat them with respect and love and kindness and to do what they ask. Our parents take care of us, love us, pray for us and give us everything we need.
This week let’s thank our moms for all the ways they make us feel special and loved. (Don’t worry, dads will get their special day in June!)
Thanks, Mom!
Thank you, mom, for the love you show.
Holding me tight like you’ll never let go!
And baking me my “fave” mac and cheese,
Not making me eat all my broccoli, please??
Kisses good night and good morning, too!
Smiles that shine and laughter that’s true.
Making our home where I always want to be.
Offering forgiveness when I’m beastly.
Making memories with me to last forever!
Honor your mother this Mother’s Day by saying thank you for all she does for you!
This week do something special for your special mom; pick her some flowers, or write her a poem, or write her a thank you note, or draw a picture for her, or make her something to eat (maybe dad can help), and just give her lots of hugs and kisses. Make your special mom feel special this week!
Blessings to you and all your mothers this week!
