Tell What God Has Done For You!

“I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.” Psalms 57:9-11

Therefore do not  be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God. 2 Timothy 1:8

A glorious sunset in God’s amazing creation! I hope we always give God the glory for all the wonderful things He does in our lives.

Our first verse is a psalm which is simply a song or poem praising God. Remember the story of David and Goliath? David grew up to be the king of Israel. And even though he had many troubles, David continued to write songs and poems praising God. In this psalm, David wrote that he would praise God to all the nations and sing about Him to all the peoples. David wanted to tell everyone all the wonderful things that God had done for him in his life.

Our second verse tells us that we are not to be ashamed, which means to feel embarrassed or bad, about sharing our story of what God has done for us. We are to be like David and praise God and sing about Him to all people.

Do you like to sing and praise God and Jesus? What’s your favorite song to sing in church? God likes for us to share with others all of the wonderful ways He has worked in our lives. When I write this devotional, I am sharing some of my stories about God with you! Remember our dog that God healed, or some of God’s amazing creations, or some of the ways God has blessed me.

What God Has Done for Me!

God gave me grandparents that loved me and gave me my first Bible.

God gave me parents that loved and took care of me.

God gave me two brothers and a sister to grow up with.

God gave me friends at school to learn and play with.

God gave me my own family when I was grown up.

God gave me a love of reading and gift for writing.

God gave me a way to share what He has done for me, with you!

This week, I am going to ask you to do two things. First, talk with your parents. Talk about all the ways that God and Jesus have worked in your life. You can even make a list! Things like a great mom and dad. Friends and family. Special skills you have. Even things you love to do. Make a list of all the ways God has blessed you and added to the story of your life. I’m sure your mom and dad count you as one of their blessings from God and a big part of their story!

Second, find a way to share part of your story with someone else. Look at your list. What do you want to share? Draw a picture, write a story, write a poem or song, or just tell someone your story. Decide who you want to share it with and share what God has done for you. And maybe that person will want to share their story and praise God with you!

Blessings as you share your story! May God’s glory be over all the earth!

  1. He has done many marvelous things in my life. I thank him daily for sparing my life many years ago. And I pray I never take for granted the gift of waking every morning to the sunrise. Have a blessed day, Peggy.
