He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:6 ESV
Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man. Psalm 66:5 ESV
Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher) “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. John 1:38-39 ESV
Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Phillip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:46 ESV
“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” John 4:29 ESV

I love to take photos of sunrises and sunsets (as most already know). I will see a beautiful sunset or sunrise and call my husband to “come and see”. I want him to experience the beauty and light of it for himself. He would not have experienced it if I had just described it to him.
Have you ever asked someone to “come and see” something so wonderful that you wanted them to experience it? Has someone ever asked you to “come and see?”
The “come and see” invitations in the Bible are a call to come and experience something new, or wonderful, or even just unbelievable unless you actually get to experience it. This invitation is not just gaining knowledge of someone or something, it encourages action, going and seeing and discovering for yourself.
All our verses for today invite others to come and see:
The angel tells the women that Jesus has risen and encourages them to experience the empty tomb for themselves.
The Psalmist invites us to remember and experience the amazing things God has done and praise Him.
Two of John the Baptist’s disciples follow Jesus after John described Him as the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” They ask Jesus where He is staying, and Jesus invites them to come and see, to experience Jesus for themselves.
Jesus had already called Phillip as a disciple, who then invites his friend Nathanael to also come and see and experience, Jesus.
The woman at the well is stunned that this man asking for water knows everything about her, she talks with him, discovers that He is the Messiah and so she invites everyone she knows to come and see.
This week let’s accept the invitation to come and see Jesus in God’s Word and experience all that He is to each one of us. We can also invite others to “come and see.” We could invite someone to church or a small group.
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me as we accept the invitation to come and see all that Jesus is and also invite others to come and see and experience Jesus.
Blessings and joy as we come and see and experience our Lord!
