Happy Mother’s Day!

Her mouth speaks wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the activities of her household and is never idle. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her. Proverbs 31: 26-28 CSB

It [love] bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13:7-8a

Happy Mother’s Day! Today we recognize and thank our mothers! Whether your mom is still here or has gone home to be with the Lord, as my mom has, your mom holds a special place in your heart and soul. Our mothers reflect God’s unconditional love and forgiveness for us, teach us right from wrong, and how to be kind and sympathetic. They encourage and scold, love and hope for the best for us. Moms are our heroes!

This Mother’s Day I want to offer a prayer for all mothers and mothers to be.

A Prayer for Mothers

May God give you strength to endure morning sickness and contraction pains.

May God give you joy at the birth of your baby when love is all that remains.

May God give you peace and rest when your child snuggles close and sleeps.

May God give you gentleness when the nighttime feedings come and tiredness peaks.

May God give you patience as your toddler demands attention and is a bit headstrong.

May God give you delight as your child learns to read and write and to get along.

May God give you self-control when your teen spouts hurtful words, so that you answer with love.

May God give you the right words to speak and encouragement that only comes from above.

May God give you courage as your young adult leaves home to find their own way.

May God give you faithfulness to know that He will watch over them, so they don’t stray.

May God give you goodness in a child well raised, knowing God and His words of eternal life.

May God give you blessings of all good things as you continue to praise Him even in strife.

Thank You, Lord, for your guidance and wisdom for mothers. Amen

This week celebrate your mother and/or graciously accept the accolades due you if you are a mom. We can never repay or praise our moms enough for all they do and all that they mean to us. Thank you to all of our moms! We love you!

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we celebrate our moms on Mother’s Day.

Blessings and joy, remembrance, and thankfulness!
