The Holy Spirit in Us

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 NIV

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26 NIV

The Holy Spirit comes and lives with us when we believe and confess our faith in all Jesus and God have done for us, when we are saved.

When we believe in our hearts that Jesus is God’s Son, that He came to earth to die for us, and that He arose from death to live, and we say with our mouths that all this is true; we are saved. We belong to Jesus and God is our Father. But the third part of the Trinity, our three part God, is the Holy Spirit.

In our second verse, Jesus is telling His disciples (and us, too), that after He goes to heaven, He will send a helper, the Holy Spirit, to all who believe. So even though we don’t have Jesus here with us, we have the Holy Spirit, not just with us but living in us. That might sound a little hard to believe. But the Holy Spirit is just that a Spirit. He is with us always.

You know that little voice in your head that tells you when you shouldn’t do something because it’s wrong or someone might get hurt? That’s the Holy Spirit guiding you, helping you. If you are saved, you have the Holy Spirit with you.

Embrace the Holy Spirit and all He can do with you.

Spirit come be with me.

Spirit guide me and help me, comfort me, and live with me.

Spirit come teach me and be my companion.

Spirit come dance with me, sing with me, laugh with me, pray with me, cry with me.

Spirit come live in me.

This week talk to your parents about being saved and the Holy Spirit so that you can understand Him better. How does the Spirit work in your mom and dad’s lives? How does He work in your life? How do you know He’s there?

Blessings and joy as the Holy Spirit lives within you!
