If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 NIV

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26 NIV

The Holy Spirit comes to abide within us when we believe and profess our faith in Jesus as God’s Son and Messiah, Jesus, our Savior. The Spirit is God, as is God the Father, as is Jesus, God the Son. All three are the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is our advocate, helper, counselor, companion, guide.

Spirit, Come

Spirit come, fill me, guide me, chastise me, help me resist temptation,

Spirit come, speak to my heart, touch my mind, envelop my soul with love,

Spirit come, pray for me, interpret God’s Word for me, let me see the truth,

Spirit come, comfort me in grief, give me wisdom as I interact with others,

Spirit come, convict me, strengthen me, lead me in the will of God in my life.

Spirit, come!

This week, recognize the Holy Spirit within you, that inner voice that guides and convicts, gives joy and peace, brings to mind the words of Jesus, and indwells us always as believers.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we invite the Holy Spirit to come and work in our lives.
