Labor with Love!

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people. Colossians 3:17 & 23 CSB

The beautiful work of God’s hands. We ask that He bless the work of our hands as we labor with love.

Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone has/had a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. In the US, Labor Day celebrates American workers by giving them a day off. How did you celebrate your long holiday weekend? A cookout with family and friends? One last vacation trip? Or just relaxing time with family?

Since the fall of Adam and Eve, people have worked. But no matter your labor, Paul gives us all some sound advice. Whatever work you do, do it in the name of Jesus and do it from the heart, in other words, with love. Smile and say “good morning” to your cranky boss. Put in that bit of extra effort on a project. Help out a fellow worker who is struggling. Let the love of the Lord be your new work companion. Give your defiant toddler an extra hug. Work with your spouse to get that hard job finished.

This week, head out to work or work at home, but do everything in the name of Jesus with the same love that He has shown to us. Labor with Love! Every day is “labor day” when we work for the Lord with love for others.

I want to leave us with a blessing from Psalms. This was a prayer by Moses. Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish for us the work of our hands – establish the work of our hands. Psalms 90:17

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we celebrate Labor Day and do all our work in the name of Jesus with love. Make every day a “labor day” as you work for the Lord with love, remembering to give thanks to God.

Blessings in your labors and the bless the work of your hands!
