Jesus Speaks, How Do We Respond?

“I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “No one who comes to me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in me will ever be thirsty again.” John 6:35 CSB

Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 CSB

Jesus said again, “Truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.” “I am the gate. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture.” John 10:7 & 9 CSB

“I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me.” “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 & 14 CSB

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me, even if he dies, will live.” John 11:25 CSB

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 CSB

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.” “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.” John 15:1 & 5

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.” John 8:58 CSB

I have dozens of pictures of “the heavens.” There is something so peaceful and amazing about blue skies with clouds painted by the Lord.

Obviously, this week we are exploring the “I am” statements that Jesus made to others about Himself. He tells them, and us, clearly who He is.

Jesus is:

our nourishment in life and our living water,

our light of life, our gate to enter salvation,

our good shepherd, leading and guiding and ultimately laying down His life for us.

our eternal life,

the way, the truth, and the life, the way to the Father,

the vine that allows us to be fruitful.

But above all, Jesus is:  our triune God! Jesus uses the name “I AM” that Father God used to speak to Moses.

And now, this week, our only decision is how do we respond? How do we react to Jesus telling us clearly who He is? Give some thought to your response. It is an individual choice.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we “listen” to Jesus speak and decide how we will respond.

Blessings in Jesus Christ our Lord!
