“Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.” Psalms 34:3 NIV

We started off our December posts with the expectation of our Savior’s birth. Next we joined the angels and the shepherd’s in exclamations of His humble arrival in a stable in Bethlehem. This week we glorify the Lord Jesus with exaltation. The definition of exaltation is the act of “elevating someone with praise,” “honoring” someone and holding them in “high esteem.”
Christmas has become a stressful time; finding the perfect gifts, putting up the best decorations, planning the traditional dinners, and taking care of all the small details to make it the best for our families. But as we celebrate Christmas, let’s take the time to put Jesus in His proper place with all the exaltation due:
the Prince of Peace,
the King of Kings,
Immanuel, God with us,
the Light of the World,
the Messiah,
our Savior.
This week let’s all make a special effort to put Jesus into the center of our celebrations. Let’s put Him first as we prepare for Christmas. Exalting Him with praise, giving Him the place of honor, and putting Him into the midst of all our Christmas traditions. He is who we celebrate. He is the reason for the Christmas season.
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me as we honor and praise our Lord Jesus with exaltation.
Blessings and joy as exalt Jesus! And have a very merry Christmas!
We can better understand why David said “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1)
