Share the Good News!

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord’. Suddenly a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace.’” Luke 2:10-11, 13-14a NIV

Share the good news of Jesus’ birth from the mountain tops.

Imagine that you are a shepherd helping to tend your father’s sheep just outside of the tiny town of Bethlehem. You help to gather the sheep in close to keep them safe. You’ve just laid down to rest, when suddenly, an angel appears, brightly lit and shinning with God’s glory. He shares the good news that the Messiah has been born! And He is here, in your town. As you stare at the angel, he is surrounded by an army of angels. They are shouting praises to God for the amazing gift of Jesus on this very first Christmas!

After the angels have gone, all of you are talking at once. “Was that real?” “Let’s go find Him.” “Come on, let’s search the stables!” You and the other shepherds walk into Bethlehem, checking each stable for the baby Jesus, Immanuel, God with us. Finally, you find the family just as the angel had told. You fall to your knees before the Messiah and begin to praise God.

The news is so good that you just can’t keep it to yourselves. You begin to share the good news of the birth of Jesus with everyone you meet with shouts of joy and blessings of peace on earth.

This month as we continue to wait to celebrate Christmas, let’s not forget to share the good news of Jesus’ birth with everyone we know! Just as the shepherds couldn’t keep the good news to themselves, neither can we. Share the good news of Jesus birth with everyone.

Blessings, joy and peace as you share the good news!
