Come Boldly to God!

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

The “heavens” of God’s throne. In the Bible God’s throne is described by Ezekiel as sapphire, a blue gemstone.

A throne is a large, fancy chair that a king or ruler of a country would sit in as he spoke to his people and made judgements. King Solomon had an ivory throne. In the Bible, God’s throne is described as the whole heavens or in heaven. God is the Creator of everything, of the earth and planets, the moon and stars, the plants and animals, and you and me.

But no matter how awesome, wonderful, and big our God is, He wants each of us to come to Him. And this verse from Paul tells us that we can not only come to God’s throne but that we can come boldly, confidently and courageously. We can be bold because we believe all of God’s promises to us and trust that He will fulfill them.

God’s Promises Make Me Bold

God promises to let all the children come to Him.

God promises to love you with an everlasting love.

God promises to never leave you.

God promises to help you and give you strength.

God promises to forgive your sins when you ask.

God promises to work all things (even bad) for your good.

God promises to give you a hope and a future.

God promises to hear your prayers when you come to Him.

So, come boldly to God with your prayers, problems, fears, thanks and well, everything!

This week, write down or draw pictures of God’s promises for you. Talk to your parents, can you think of more of God’s promises? When you believe that God will keep His promises, then you have faith or trust in God. Come boldly into the presence of God on His throne and give thanks, pray, and talk to God about all your concerns. God loves you and hears your requests. And remember that God works all things for your good. So sometimes, that means waiting on God’s answer is good for you.

Blessings as you come boldly to God!
