Come Boldly to the Throne

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

The beautiful blue “heavens” of God’s throne!

Paul tells us to come boldly to the throne of God. God wants us to come to Him. And we come because Jesus has beckoned to us to come to the Father through Him.

Bold is defined as “confident and courageous.” But what makes us bold? I know that I am not always bold. I sometimes feel that my seemingly insignificant concerns or problems are not important enough to bring to before the Lord. But then I pause and delve into God’s word. I seek His promises, and find Him (first promise fulfilled!). He loves me, He is with me always, He hears my prayers, He has a plan for me, He gives me peace and rest, He carries my burdens (no matter how large or small), He helps and strengthens me, His love for me will never be shaken.

And these promises, and more, are for each one of us! This is a quote from Bible in One Year 2021 by Nicky Gumbel. It is my daily Bible read to start my day. “God is the God of promise. Faith involves trusting the promises of God. God makes a promise; faith believes it, hope anticipates it, patience quietly waits for it.” This is why we are bold as we approach the throne. We trust in our God and His promises to us. We embrace His truth. We hold tightly to His “righteous right hand.” And we come to His throne expectantly and joyfully.

This week hold tightly to God’s promises, take Him at His word, and come boldly before His throne. Share your fears, your concerns, your prayers, your questions, your doubts, and yourself. Accept His strength, guidance, hope, peace, rest and love.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we come boldly to the throne of our God of mercy and grace.

Blessings and boldness!
