Your Gifts from God

“For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29 NIV

A gift from God to each of us, everyday, a wonderful sunrise or sunset.

Paul gives us our verse for today. He is talking, actually writing a letter, to the new Christian church in Rome. Paul is telling them, and us, that God has gifted each of us with a special talent or desire that is a part of our design, who God created us to be. Think about what you are good at or what you really love to do. As you grow and get older your gifts may become more clear to you.

When I was a young teenager, I loved  babysitting! I loved taking care of kids. It is one of my gifts from God. It is why I babysat and became a teacher. It was my calling from God, to love children just as I was loved by God. I also enjoy writing, like this blog. It is another gift from God. So my desire is to write stories for children about God and His word. This is God’s calling on my life now. And I am still working on it!

What do you think is one of your gifts from God? If you don’t know yet, don’t worry. God will help you figure it out over time.

Gifted by God

Noah was gifted to build an ark.

Abraham was gifted with a great faith.

Moses was gifted to  be a great leader.

Samson was gifted with great strength.

Ruth was gifted to be full of love and loyal.

David was gifted to sing and to be king.

Ester was gifted to be a wonderful queen.

Isaiah was gifted to be a speaker for God.

Mary was gifted to be faithful and the mother of Jesus.

Paul was gifted to be a preacher to the Gentiles.

And you are gifted by the same God that gifted them!

This week talk with your parents and explore what your gifts might be. Draw a picture of what you might do with a gift you have. Don’t forget to share your gift. God gives us our gifts to help others, to love others and to shine God’s beautiful light on others.

Blessings and joy as you discover your gifts!
