“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18 NIV

The new school year has already started where I live. If you haven’t already started school, you will probably start in the next month or so. In our verse today, Paul is not only telling us to pray, to talk to God. He is telling us that we need to pray for others. So, today I want to pray for each of you as you begin an exciting new school year.

I pray that you will…

Embrace a new school year with a ready, open mind.

Strive to be like Jesus, encouraging and kind.

Seek knowledge and understanding like long, lost treasure.

Step into new adventures unafraid, without measure.

Enjoy new friendships but also keep the old.

Shine God’s light for all to behold.

Stay healthy and strong to complete school’s chores.

Pray for your teachers and friends galore.

Walk through the year, till all has been explored.

Smile and laugh with the joy of the Lord.

This week (or the week that you start school) go boldly and gladly into the new school year.  The Lord and all these prayers for you, will go with you. Smile, enjoy and do your best.
