Focus on Jesus

“And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1b-2 NKJV

Where ever our life “race” takes us, Jesus goes with us to give strength and encouragement.

Paul compares our lives to a race. And at times, busy with life, it seems that we are truly racing around, trying to get everything done, checked off our lists, accomplished and done. I am guilty of the same “race”, I have so much to do that I lose my focus, lose sight of my ultimate goal in this race called life.

What is our real life “race” that God and Jesus have set before us? What is our real goal of this earthly life? I believe that Paul is telling us that our real “race” is to live a life with Jesus as our focus and our final goal. Our life is the God-given path we are meant to travel. We journey with Jesus as our guide, our mentor, our model. Jesus is our path and our goal.

Focus on Jesus

Focus on Jesus, and our path becomes defined.

Focus on Jesus, and our lives with love, entwined.

Focus on Jesus, and gentle kindness guides our way.

Focus on Jesus, and His light brightens each day.

Focus on Jesus, in all the twists and turns of the race.

Focus on Jesus, endure the journey and life embrace.

Focus on Jesus, and our race will one day be won.

Focus on Jesus, and heaven is our joy after the run.

This week, embrace your race, endure the hardships, and enjoy your life. Focus on Jesus. Start each day with Jesus as your guide and companion and welcome the race!

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we focus on Jesus and run our best lives!

Blessings and joyful lives!
