“He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind, and who reveals his thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth – the Lord God Almighty is his name.” Amos 4:13 NIV

Amos is one of the prophets of the Old Testament. In the verse above he is reminding the people of Israel just who their God is. He is the creator of the mountains, the wind and the whole wide world. He created men and women in His image and shares His thoughts. He commands the dawn and the dark. He walks the high places of the earth and sees His creation. He is the Lord God Almighty. He is all powerful.
I love to go outside in God’s most wonderful creation and find traces of our Almighty God. This week I want to share with you some of the places I discovered God by observing His amazing creations.

I see the gentleness of the Creator’s hand in a Luna Moth as she rests on the forest floor. Do you see the pattern of “eyes” and a “smile” on her wings?

I see the plan of God in the pattern of a wood fungus on a dead tree. Did you know that the job of this fungus is to break down and decay the wood and return it back to the soil?

I see the beauty of God in the wildflower blooms that grow at the edge of the woods. What is your favorite flower?

I see the power of God in the rush of water coursing down a waterfall after a summer thunderstorm. It is so loud!

I see the care of God in the variety of plants that provide food for us. What is your favorite fruit?

I see the love of God in each new sunrise of each new day. What will you do with this new day that God has given you?
This week, step out into our Almighty God’s marvelous creation and find the Creator. Take a photo or draw a picture of where you found “the Lord God Almighty”. Share it with your parents. I want you to consider one more place to find God. Run and look in the mirror. Yes, you are one of God’s most wonderful creations!
Blessings and joy as you discover our Almighty God in the world around you and in you!
