Choose to Rejoice!

“But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in You.”  Psalms 5:11

April Sunrise

As we continue to social distance and stay at home, as we continue to persevere in the face of sickness and death in our country, let us also remember that we are the children of a wonderful and amazing and powerful God. Let us choose to rejoice!

Rejoice in the Lord!

In the worried darkness of a sleepless night,

Our Lord gifts us unfathomable peace and light.

In the midst of sadness, mourning and despair.

Our Lord gifts us comfort and hope through prayer.

Rejoice in the Lord!

In the unrelenting needs of sisters and brothers,

Our Lord gifts us the treasure of serving others.

In the separation of isolation and loneliness,

Our Lord gifts us His strength and constant presence.

Rejoice in the Lord!

In a broken world of raw confused feelings,

Our Lord gifts us His enduring love and healing.

In the midst of appalling images all around,

Our Lord gifts us creation’s sights and sounds.

Rejoice in the Lord! And again I say rejoice!

This week as we count our troubles, let’s remember to count our blessings! Let’s rejoice in all the Lord has done and continues to do for us. Let’s continue our prayers for strength and wisdom and healing for our world, our country, our states, our communities and our families.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as, in the middle of the storms of life, we choose to rejoice in our Lord.

Blessings and joy!
