Defined by God

“The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11 NKJV

Waterfall 2

Spring fed Waterfall!

I continue to discover verses that speak to me when I need them most. I pray that they speak to you, too! In March, I confessed my disappointment in the silence I had received when I sent a few of my stories into publishers. I was questioning my path and God’s direction for my future in writing for children. But I determined to continue and let God guide me as I moved forward. I have sent a proposal to a publisher for a creation story for children. I am waiting to see if this might be a part of God’s plan for my writing.

But as I wait on the Lord, I continue to find comfort and peace and strength and satisfaction in His Word. This verse from Isaiah promises that the Lord will guide me, and that He will do it “continually”! But God and His word offer so much more! When my soul is parched and dried out, He gives satisfaction. When I am weak and weary, He gives strength. When I am down and wilted, He sprinkles life-giving water. And when I am thirsty and searching, He gives me springs of water that never stop.

Defined by God

When the pace of the world depletes us, God declares that we are His beloved.

When relationships demoralize us, God delights us with His joy and peace.

When our plans disappoint us, God determines our steps and lights our path.

When endless troubles defeat us, God describes us as His cherished, forgiven children.

When we are despised for our faith, God dedicates us as His good and faithful servants.

This week let us seek God in His word and devote ourselves to accepting all the promises He offers. Let us find encouragement and joy and the light for our lives that only God can gift. Let us drink in the everlasting water that never fails and be quenched and satisfied. Let us be defined by God!

I thank God for each of you and I thank you for being a part of my journey to find my path in the Lord. I thank you for joining me this week as we all satisfy our souls with our God and His Word for our lives.
