“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJV
A wonderful sunrise for a wonderful Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day!!
I am publishing a day early in order to celebrate all of our dads on Father’s Day! I somehow got my dates messed up, but it can’t wait until tomorrow, because dads are so important to us all.
God created the family. He created Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply. God blesses a man and a woman with children, and we become…moms and dads. And as the verse above tells us, dads (and moms) are to teach their children about the Lord, our God. We are to hold His commands in our hearts and share His love and guidance with our children. What an awesome, and somewhat intimidating, responsibility!
Thank You, God, for all our dads as we celebrate them today (and hopefully every day)!
I lost my dad way too early. Today I want to remember him with this small verse as we are reminded of the things we love about our dads, our heroes, our protectors, our friends.
Thank You, God, for My Dad
Thanks for always being in love with my mother,
You taught me what it was to care for another.
Thanks for your love for me that wouldn’t quit,
You encouraged and corrected my wayward spirit.
Thanks for working hard each day to make us a life,
You rarely complained about all the troubles and strife.
Thanks for each weekend and trips that were fun.
You made time with you special, when all was done.
Thanks for your sense of fun and unique humor,
You were sometimes silly, the master of one-liners.
Thanks for teaching me practical real-life skills,
You gladly let me work with wrenches and drills.
Thanks for encouraging me, my own path to choose,
You opened every door you could, so I couldn’t lose.
Thanks for being my hero and for the lessons I learned,
You were the best dad ever as far as I’m concerned!
Today, let’s honor or remember our dads, they impact our lives so much!
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we celebrate our wonderful dads!! Thank You, God, for all of our dads.
