“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:1 & 3

I love ferns! I can see God’s design of creation in the delicate leaves of this fern pushing up through the forest floor.

Faith is a thing, something you keep in your mind and heart. Faith is confidently believing in something (or someone) and knowing that it’s true and real.

It is easy to have faith in things we can see and touch, like our mom and dad. We know they love us and care for us. But how do we have faith in God? We can’t see Him or touch Him. But we can see and touch and explore the world that He created. God is visible in all that He has created, including you and me!

Faith in God is first believing that God is the Creator of our entire world and that He created you and I in His image. He loves us and created us to have a relationship with Him. He wants us to love and respect and praise Him.

Faith is knowing that, not only is God real, but that His promises in the Bible are real. God loves us, He knew us before we were even born, He has a plan for our lives, He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us and draw us closer to Him.

Our faith grows and strengthens as we learn more about God, His Word and His world.

FAITH

Finding God in a beautiful sunrise, a white cottony cloud, or a perfectly shaped leaf.

Admiring God’s handiwork in a splashing waterfall or in the colorful arc of a rainbow.

Investigating His Word, the Bible, and discovering God’s love and promises for you.

Thanking God for all He’s done for you and for giving you awesome families and friends.

Hanging on to your faith in God, letting it grow and strengthen, so you can be a light to others.

This week, step out into God’s marvelous creation, draw a picture of something you found that shows God’s wonderful design and helped to strengthen your faith. Or make up your own Faith poem about God’s created world. Share your picture or poem with your parents and talk about faith.
