Glorify God!

“I will praise You, O Lord, my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.” Psalms 86:12 NKJV

A soft, beautiful sunrise and a glorious spectacular sunset let’s us see God’s glory!

God has always been and will always be. God has no beginning and no end. God simply is. To glorify God means to realize that He is awesome and great and wonderful. And because He is so magnificent and glorious, we offer Him praise and honor and worship Him.

Everything Jesus did on earth, opening the eyes of the blind, bringing the dead back to life, healing the sick, feeding the five thousand, and even dying on the cross for us, were all to glorify God, His Father, in heaven.

So how can we glorify God?

Believe:  We first glorify God by believing in Him, trusting that He loves us, reading His Word, having faith in His Son, Jesus, and accepting the gift of salvation.

Decide: We also can glorify God by the decisions we make. Do we tell the truth, or do we tell a lie? I think you know which would glorify God. Do we choose to share God with others?

Respond: And we can glorify God by how we handle things that happen to us. Do we try to speak kind words to someone who hasn’t always been kind to us, or are we mean to them? Which is glorifying God? Right, being kind! Because, with God, we are different from the rest of the world.

Glorify God!

Thank You, God, for loving me and sending Jesus, Your Son.

I give You the glory for creation and everything you have done!

I pray for help, God, as I try to make decisions that are right.

When others see me, I hope that they see Your shining light!

Give me strength, God, to deal with this world’s troubles and ways.

Let me respond as Jesus would, and then give You the praise!

This week pick one thing you can do to glorify God. You could share what you believe about God with someone, you could sing a song of praise to God, you could choose to do something kind for someone, or you could forgive someone who may have hurt your feelings unintentionally. Your parents can help you decide.

Blessings as you glorify your God and shine His light for others to see!!
