“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all of the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord.” Psalms 96:11-12
This is my favorite time of the year! The creation of the Lord is in its fullness. The trees are bursting with leaves, the wildflowers are blooming, new plants are growing and stretching toward the sun. The birds are singing, and new life is born to God’s creatures. Everything in creation is alive and praising its creator! And just like the rest of God’s marvelous creation, let us, made in God’s image, take the time to rejoice and thank Him.
Rejoice
Step outside, breathe the air, feel the sunlight, raise your hands!
Rejoice! And praise God for all of His wonderfully created lands.
Close your eyes, listen to a dove cooing, hear water rushing in a creek.
Delight! And join God’s creations as to their Creator they speak.
Study a leaf, the delicate veins, the richness of color, unique design.
Joy! Consider the individuality of all God’s works, lives entwined.
Embrace the beauty and fleeting life of the wild flowers of the field.
Glory! And thank God, He sees your beauty and is your shield.
Seek out the special created wonders that speak to your heart.
Celebrate! A white quartz rock, a honeybee, a new tree starts.
Sit in silence and feel and see and smell and listen to the earth.
Rejoice! And experience God’s beautiful creation and your worth.
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week to as we take time to rejoice and praise God for His amazing creations, including us!
Blooming is the word I choose. May all our spiritual lives bloom like the plants in this season. I like the pictures too.
