God guides our path.

Sometimes we forget that God is always with us. We may tend to ignore Him from time to time and want to rely only on ourselves, but He is there, always ready to help. We only have to ask. How many mornings have you gotten out of bed, stressed, because of everything you have to accomplish today? And you really don’t see how you will get through the day. We’ve all been there!

I am a list maker. I keep a small notebook with rip-out pages and I make a list for all I need to do each day. If I get them crossed off, then I get to rip the page out and pitch it. It is somewhat satisfying to throw away a “day’s list”. But I don’t get to do that very often, I find that I end up with a notebook with lots of leftover lists; and then I get discouraged and write all those leftover items on a new list. But now, it’s a huge list! I need God’s help.

I still write out my lists; I call them my “memory assistants”. But now I ask God to come along with me on my day. I ask for His help in getting things done and for His peace if it all doesn’t get finished. Sometimes there are more important things that come up than what is written on my list. A neighbor needs help, a friend has an emergency, a child is sick, or someone just needs a good listener. God is with me every day and goes with me to help me set priorities and direct my path.

I try to start each day with a “morning coffee time” with God. I still have my list, but my prayer is that today I will accomplish God’s will and will do things to help others and maybe the list will get done, too. Each of us has our own unique relationship with God, but let’s not forget to invite God along with us each day. He is with us in even the smallest details of our daily struggles and worries. And He wants to share them with us. Thank You, God, for being there for us and giving us guidance.
