“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”” Ephesians 6:1:3 NKJV
Happy Father’s Day!!
Remember the verse above from Mother’s Day? We are using it again because next Sunday is Father’s Day. We always want to show our dads the love and respect and kindness that God expects. But this week we want to make a special effort to honor and appreciate our dads for all the great things they do for us and with us.
Thank You, Dad!
Thank you, Dad, you’re number one!
To tell you why will be lots of fun.
You hold me tight when I’m afraid,
Your strong arms help my fear to fade.
You wake me up early to say goodbye.
You give me a hug and tell me I’m your guy.
You give me a job when you’re not here,
I have to help Mom till you reappear.
You teach me all about cars and sports,
And how to identify a piece of rose quartz.
You show me how to pray with God,
And to sit patiently with my fishing rod.
You read to me at bedtime till I fall asleep.
You lay me down gently in a small snuggled heap.
You whisper, “Sleep tight! I love you, goodnight!”
I yawn, “I love you, Dad!” as you turn out my light.
Honor your Dad this Father’s Day by saying thank you for all he does for you!
This week do something special for your special dad; make him a card that tells him how much you love him, draw him a picture to take to work, give him a big hug and say thanks, or just tell him you love him.
If you want to share something special about your special dad, just ask your parents to post it as a reply to this blog. Then look for it on the Kids Gallery page.
RE and Traveler love Father’s Day, too!!
