Shine Like the Light of Dawn!

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until the full day. Proverbs 4:18 ESV

Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8 ESV

My favorite times of the day are dawn and dusk, sunrise and sunset. I’m sure many of you know this already as I seem to post dozens of pictures of both! I love the colors and the clouds, the light and the love, that shines on each of us. I love the beauty and joy as a new day begins and the rest and ease as the day diminishes into darkness.

God is light and we can reflect His light to others we meet. Shining God’s light can mean sharing the gospel or sharing a smile. We reflect His light with kindness and caring for others. We can brighten someone’s day with encouragement and friendship. We can be the light by simply listening to someone’s story or being present with someone who is grieving.

Think of times when someone shone the light of God for you. Think of times when you were there to shine the light for someone else. Let the gifts of the spirit flow freely through you; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

This week as you interact with those around you, shine like the light of dawn, shine God’s wonderful love and light for all to see. As we have accepted God’s light into our lives, shine His light and be a blessing to others. I ask you to take the same challenge as I’ve given to the children this week. Families can do it together! Each day this week, choose at least one person to share God’s light with and brighten their day.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we all shine God’s light like the “light of dawn” to others.

Blessings as you bless those around you and shine like the light of dawn!
