Proclaim Your Story!

Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me. Psalms 6:16 CSB

Proclaim your story from the mountain tops for all the world to hear!

We all have stories of how God has worked and continues to work in our lives. Maybe it’s your salvation story, or a healing story, or a God’s providence story, or a protection story. When you proclaim your story to others, you offer encouragement and give praise to God.

I invite everyone today to “come and listen” to one of my many stories of what God has done for me. I’ll try to make it short, but no promises.

I was married and living in North Carolina. My first teaching assignment was working with special education kids in a self-contained classroom. I loved it and the kids did so well that some were considered for mainstreaming. I was there for six years. For the next school year, I was taken out of the classroom to be an itinerant teacher. I would be working to identify special needs kids and mainstreaming special kids back into regular classrooms. I drove the whole county, so a lot!

One day while meeting with a high school mainstream student. I had an “episode” where I just “spaced out” for about 5 minutes, or so my student told me. It was scary. The short story is – I was diagnosed with epilepsy. Thank You, Lord, for protecting me through all those miles I had already driven!

One of my biggest obstacles was not driving for at least a year to ensure the medications would work to control the temporal lobe seizures. I was temporarily placed in two local schools with their special ed programs. My husband dropped me off in the mornings and God provided a wonderful teacher at each school who took me home afternoons. We are friends, thank you Adrianne and Susan!

After my year without driving, the meds were working well. God provided a teaching job close to home, first grade, also loved it. The second obstacle was that the medication for epilepsy could cause birth defects. God once again was working His good for me, as both our children were born healthy with no issues. Lots more praise and thanks!

I waited until my daughter could do the driving to try to get off the meds, because I had had no seizures, but again a year without driving. And God continued to show grace and blessings. I was off the meds without a single seizure. God gave me the ultimate gift, complete healing!

This week proclaim your story of how God has worked in your life to others and listen to their stories. Let’s praise our God together and encourage each other with our stories.

I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we proclaim our stories of our mighty and wonderful God so that others can see His goodness and seek Him.

Blessings and boldness as we proclaim and praise our amazing God!
