Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a CSB

We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19 CSB

Who do you love? Your mom and dad, grandparents, friends? In our verses for today, Paul is telling the church at Corinth, and us, what love is and is not. And John explains that we can love others because God loves us. God’s love for us is patient and kind. God forgives our sins and rejoices over us. His love for us never ends.

And God wants us to love the people we know and meet. We need to show others God’s love by loving them as He loves us. We should be kind and patient with people. We should be forgiving and not speak harshly. We should be joyful and hopeful with people. We should be God’s love for others to see.

This week, love the people around you. Let God’s love and light shine through you. Be the love!
