When I am filled with cares, your comfort brings me joy. But the LORD is my refuge; my God is the rock of my protection. Psalms 94:19,22 CSB

Do the cares of this world weigh heavy on your soul? The bad news, the responsibilities, the lists of “to do’s,” the financial struggles, the job, the “not enough time,” the, well, everything? Are you feeling burdened by cares and weary? We do have help.
We can take our cares, our worries, our weariness, and our burdens to the Lord our God. As David advises us, “Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you.” Psalms 55:22a And Jesus actually tells us, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matt. 11:28
Ok, I have to admit I am a worrier. I will lay awake at night and begin to think of all the what ifs and all the things that I have to take care of the next day. Before I know it, my mind has gone off in so many different directions that I’m not even sure where I started. But I am a long way from sleep.
What I have to do is take a deep breath and turn my mind away from the worries and toward the Lord. I bring my worries, my cares, and my burdens to the Lord, and I give each one to Him. He replaces my worries with comfort; knowing that He will keep His promises. The Lord is my refuge and protection. I feel relief and joy as He sustains me and gives me rest.
This week every time a worry or care comes to mind, go to the Lord. Thank Him for all your blessings and how He has already worked in your life. Tell Him your worry and leave it in His capable hands. Trade your cares for the comfort and joy of the Lord. “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we turn our worries and cares over to the Lord and receive His comfort and joy.
Blessings and joy!
