“I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you.” Psalms 119:11 CSB
“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:20-21 CSB

I am doing a follow up to last week’s blog post. Did you memorize a few verses? 🥳Cheers and congrats!! I actually decided that the harder part was choosing only three verses to start. I looked up some of my favorites and ended up with a starter list of about 15 verses. Needless to say, I have more memorizing to do.
As I was searching, I found our two verses for today that I think describe what happens as we memorize verses and study God’s Word. We are actually storing up treasures in heaven! First, we treasure God’s Word in our hearts and commit His Word to memory, and these become a portion of our treasures stored up in heaven. Once they are in your mind and heart, they cannot be destroyed or stolen.
I actually had fun memorizing the verses and storing up God’s Word in my heart, and treasures in heaven. Just to share, these were my three this past week: Isaiah 40:31, Galatians 5:22-23, and Mark 12:30-31. And I’m totally excited that I just did that from memory! I’m allowing myself to celebrate because I’m older.
This week pick out a few more verses to add to your treasures in heaven because “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
I thank God for each of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we continue to memorize God’s Holy Word and to store up our treasures in heaven.
Blessings and treasure hunting!
