“The angel told the women, “Don’t be afraid, because I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here. For he has risen, just as he said. He is not here. For he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead…’ Matthew 28:5-7a CSB

Happy Easter a little early! This coming Sunday is Easter. Yesterday we celebrated Palm Sunday when the people welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem with hosannas. This week, between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, is called Holy week. A lot happened during this week.
Jesus Is Risen!
Holy week starts with hosannas and praise,
Clearing the temple and miracles that amaze.
But the chief priests are angry and don’t believe.
That Jesus is God’s Son, they want Him to leave.
The disciples make ready the Passover meal.
Jesus, like a servant, washes feet as He kneels.
The bread is broken, and the cup is passed.
Judas leaves to betray Jesus, as forecast.
Jesus is arrested, beaten, and accused,
A crown of thorns, mocking, to speak He refused.
Nailed to the cross, for this is God’s plan,
To save all who believe, salvation began.
Though Jesus died and was buried in a cave,
Death could not hold Him; He arose from the grave.
Jesus is risen, the world rejoices, sings praise.
Jesus gives His Spirit, to live within us always.
This week, rejoice with the world and celebrate that Jesus is risen! Draw a picture of the empty tomb and share it, and the Easter story, with someone you know.
Blessings and rejoicing!
