Where Can We Go?

“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,  even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalms 139:7-10 NIV

God is there in every winter sunrise. God is where you are always.

David asks questions that I’m sure each of us has probably asked or wanted to at one time or another. “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” We want to hide from our shame, our guilt, our sin, or our thoughts. And so we try to hide from God. We turn away, hoping He will turn away from us. We don’t want God to see us.

But as David tells us, there is nowhere to hide. Wherever we go, God is there. Whatever we do, God is there. God is there loving us, caring for us, forgiving us, guiding us and holding us close.

Where Can We Go?

In the darkness of our thoughts, God’s light is there.

In the pain and grief of our losses, God’s comfort is there.

In the shame and guilt of our sin, God’s forgiveness is there.

In the brokenness of our hearts, God’s love is there.

In the depths of our fears, God’s courage is there.

In the season of our weaknesses, God’s strength is there.

In the difficulties of this life, God’s guidance is there.

We just have to run to Him and not away, because God is always there!

This week, run to God, seek His face, and take Him all of your brokenness, anguish, doubts and fears. Lay them down at His feet and you will be loved, forgiven, encouraged, strengthened, comforted, and freed. Where can we go? We can go to our Father God and be healed.

I thank God for each one of you! And I thank you for joining me this week as we run into the presence of God instead of hiding.

Blessings as you leave your burdens with Him!
