“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.” I Chronicles 16:34 NIV

Thanksgiving is this Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving! When I was teaching, we always read a Thanksgiving story about the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. We took turns going around to each child and letting them share one thing for which they were thankful. Each got to tell his or her own Thanksgiving story.
This has been a different and difficult year for most of us. Some of you are in school, some are online, and some are a mix of both. The pandemic has brought all kinds of problems for most of us. But God hasn’t changed! God is still the Lord. God is still good. And God’s love for us endures forever.
Even in difficult times we are to give thanks to our God. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians 5:18 NIV This Thanksgiving, think of things that you are “always thankful” for; like God’s love, mom and dad, siblings, friends, the surprise of an unexpected gift, family movie night, or a joke that makes you laugh.
Thankful
Thank You, God, for Jesus
Helping me to see all that you do for me
Always being with me
Never failing to forgive me
Knowing me and what I need
Family and friends
Understanding when I am angry or sad
Loving me no matter what I do
This week make your own “Thankful” list. Thank God for all He has done for you or blessed you with. Share your list with your family on Thanksgiving. Maybe everyone could make their own “Thankful” list and share.
Blessings of God’s love and our thankfulness!
