Let God Write on Your Heart!

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:3&5 NIV

In these verses from Proverbs, King Solomon, a wonderfully wise man, is giving advice to his own son on how to live his best life. Solomon provides his son a unique image or picture to help him remember the best way to live. His son is to take God’s words of love and His promises and tie them around his neck and write them on the tablet of his heart. Solomon’s son is to use the words of God to trust God completely.

I keep a small tablet on the table I use as my desk. I use it to make lists of things to do or take notes so that I will remember a verse I liked. When I read this verse, I thought about a tablet for my heart. What would my “heart” tablet have written on it? What would your “heart” tablet have written on it? God writes His words on our “heart” tablets whenever we believe and accept His love and promises.

If you believe it, then God has written it on your heart tablet!

This week make your own heart tablet. Cut out a heart shape, you can use lined or colored paper. Then write words of God’s love and promises on your heart. You can ask your parents to help you find more if you like. Share your heart tablet with someone else.

Blessings and love as you let God write His words on your heart tablet!
